Corby Glen is a small rural community of some 900 people. The Parish of about 2790 acres is set in wooded countryside located in the South Kesteven District of Lincolnshire, some 12 miles south of Grantham and 15 miles north of Stamford with the village lying on the A151 Colsterworth to Bourne Road. The river West Glen runs through the village, which is surrounded by rich, gently undulating agricultural land.

Still known simply as 'Corby' to many of its inhabitants, the village was renamed Corby Glen in the 1950's to avoid confusion with Corby in Northamptonshire.

The earliest written reference to the village was in the Domesday book, although the name 'Corby', meaning wooded area, originates from the Danes. It is likely that the settlement was known in Roman times with King Street and Ermine Way running close by. The Church of St John has uncovered some of the finest examples of medieval wall paintings in the country, and an ancient Market Cross still stands in the Market Place. Most of the houses in the centre of the village are stone built with pantile roofs and the narrow streets retain their original charm.

Corby Glen is now a thriving community with a spread of age groups, backgrounds and occupations. Many residents have a family history in the village for 100's of years, but new residents are welcomed and soon become a part of the community. The residents are served by two schools, three churches, a playgroup, two village shops, a post office, an art gallery, a reference library, two doctor's surgeries, a fire station and two pubs. Whereas in previous centuries the main employment was agriculture, now local farms work alongside the woodyard, the garage, fine food sales, builders and a host of craftsmen.

The residents can chose from a selection of leisure activities and groups such as the bowls club, the horticultural society and the history society. Children are also well-catered for in the village with a very good playgroup, a primary school recognised nationally for its excellence, a secondary school, together with the benefits of a well-maintained playground on the village green.
With two new residential developments completed in the last few years, the village has grown by about a third. Corby Glen is proud of its history, and looks to blend the old and new in the community and to maintaining a thriving future.
